When you export a process to HTML, and you click on a sub-process in your "main flow" you go to the next page with the Relationship Summary and Detail. Here you have the option to drill down to the next layer. Is there not a possibility to by-pass this "detail" page so you can go directly into the sub-process?

Isn't it also not possible when you click on an event that you only see the documentation behind it (if added of course) also without all these details?

This is a great tool, fast, user friendly and we are planning to use this and implement it with our customers.

Thx in advance!

Hello jfets,

Thanks for your suggestion. Concerning the project publisher, it is hard to jump to the diagram directly without going through the specification page as users may be interested in reading the specification of subprocess.

May I know what you want to see in the detail page of event? As I know it covers the triggers, assignments, categories, relationships, references and comments, if defined. You may share your request with me and I will discuss with our developers.

Best regards,
Jick

Hello Jick,

Thank you for the fast reply

It would be nice if there was a possibility to choose which of the details you want to be generated, like an option list you get just before you generate the HTML-file for example.

For me it would be usefull if I click on an event you directly see the Documentation. In this case also like an option-list where you choose what needs to be visualised in the HTML-file.

Best Regards,

Joeri

Hi Jick and Joeri,

I would also support this idea of having options on what you generate when you publish your project. However I would go further than Joeri and propose that for each and any object you can choose which detail you wanna see. doing so I can help my process users reading the schemas.

For example,
- Choosing which properties I wanna publish by object type (If choosen, the property must always be shown whenever it's empty or not)
- Choosing if I wanna see the relashionship detail or not and, if I want, maybe being able to choose which one I wanna see and which properties in those details must be shown (e.g. the ID is mainly of no use for end-user, Quantity is not interesting at high level, ....)

On the other hand,
- When looking at the children of a pool/lane, I don't see the flows
- The documentation property is always visible in relationship detail while if empty it's not shown in the properties.
- I would appreciate an option asking if I want to make specific paragrah between the name and the properties out of the documentation property.
- On the help menu, I would appreciate a property glossary (definition and usage) and where I can find them in BPVA, specially for non BPMN properties (E.g. the Reply property in the message start event what is this used for?) and maybe this one can be included when publishing, at least for the definition and usage.

Ok I know I'm asking a lot but we really want to use BPVA to document our process and use it to publish that documentation on our Intranet and IMHO, today's format is a bit too technical.

Thanks and have a nice day,
Patrice

Is there any evaluation on this topic?

In the HTML-file it would be great if you have the same possibilities of choices as when you generate reports.

Another interesting thing is that the processes of ITIL V3 will be drawn by HP in BPMN, so to me this is another motivation to work on these features. For Process People it is very important that they can choose what they want to be generated. People keep on asking me this if this is possible...

Up to you guys

Hello Joeri,

Thanks for your post. We will support report customization. But it is still early to say what will be allowed to be customized. I will inform you once we have make decision about this.

Hi Joeri and Jick,

We on our side would greatly appreciate it also as we are struggling today with the publishing of our work to a level which the business understands and is not bored (or even frightened) by all those technical details needed to support BPEL generation.

Thanks and have a nice day

Hi Jick,

This sounds already pretty good, can you provide me a date or a period when this is going to be possible, because people keep on asking me and i'm curious too

Also on the left you have all the diagrams that can be browsed, it would be more clear and even attractive if there is a tree-structure in it, so you can drill-down as in the diagrams. Some sort of a Windows-explorer but than for these diagrams.

Hope to hear you soon and enjoy your weekend.

Hi Jick,

Everything ok?
We already purchased one license now and are planning to expand a lot more, even in England and America we have triggered interest, but the HTML technical sheet between the diagrams is really getting crittical now, I really need an answer to this before tuesday.

Thx for your effort,

Joeri

Hello Joeri,

I am fine. Thanks for asking. As I said report customization will be available at VP Suite 3.1, which will be released not earlier than July.

Ok, thanks for the (fast) confirmation!

Will this affect diagrams that are already design, I mean will this customization still be possible for them?

Best Regards,

Joeri

Hi Joeri,

The customization will work also for your current content. By the way, I would like to clarify that it is the HTML report that will allow customization, not the project publisher. Just to clarify in case there is a misunderstanding...
