Greetings,
I have a project and have been creating classes via a CRC card diagram.
Currently we have accumulated a large number of classes and it's becoming very difficult to manage. I'd like to arrange these into packages, which I understand isn't possible, so instead I'd like to arrange them into separate diagrams.
Is there any way to copy or move classes from one CRC diagram to another?
I tried exporting to XML and XMI and changing things by hand, which gets them into separate diagrams but fails to render visually.
Please help.
Hugh

Hi Hugh,
Thanks for your post. We are sorry that currently we do not support copy and paste in CRC card, but we will consider to support this in the future. If there is any news about this issue, I'll come back to you at once.
You can put the CRC card into a package in the model tree (please refer to the flash movie at the following link), but we cannot drag them back to diagram at the moment, sorry about this.
http://files3.visual-paradigm.com/200804/Lilian/movie/card_into_package.htm
FYI, if you drag the package and the CRC card inside it (from model explorer) to a class diagram results class and package separated. We will enhance this to result in class inside the package, and I'll keep you informed about this issue.
I hope these can help. If there are any inquiries, please do not hesitate to ask.
Best regards,
Lilian Wong

Thanks. I'm on a Mac though.. is there a version out there with the patch for OSX?
The cards were grouped into packages, but dragging them from the model explorer over to a fresh diagram does nothing.

Hi Hugh,
Thanks for replying and I'm sorry for sending the patch for Windows to you before. Below is the download link of the patch for Mac OS X:
http://files3.visual-paradigm.com/200804/Patch/sp1_20080417q/VP_Suite_MacOSX_3_2_sp1_20080417q.dmg
As I mentioned before, copy and paste is not supported for CRC card, but we will consider to support it in the future.
Also, dragging the CRC card into a diagram will results nothing except in a class diagram. If you drag the CRC card model into a class diagram, a corresponding class model will be created in the class diagram.
Here is the flash movie that I've extended to demonstrate dragging the package and the CRC card model into a class diagram, you may refer to it:
http://files3.visual-paradigm.com/200804/Lilian/movie/card_into_package_extended.htm
I hope the flash will help. BTW, I'll keep you inform for any news about supporting copy/paste/drag for CRC card. If you have any inquiries, please feel free to ask.
Best regards,
Lilian Wong

Hi Hugh,
I would like to let you know that we will support dragging CRC card from Model Explorer to diagram in VP Suite 3.3 SP1 (VP-UML 6.3 SP1). Once the feature is available, I'll notify you immediately.
Best regards,
Lilian Wong
