A church market has different branches. Cashiers of each branch should be able to input all sales in their Point of Sales (POS) system. All transactions will be recorded in a local database. All transactions already recorded would be verified and validated first by staffs and then by the branch manager for each branch. After validation, information will be summarised before sent to the main office. The marketing manager may create planning and decision for the next month.
a. Draw an Activity Diagram of Transaction Reporting System.
b. Draw a Sequence diagram of all possible classes in the system.
c. Draw a possible State Diagram of a transaction.

I'd be grateful if someone here could give a solution to this problem.

I must make a communication diagram for the following case.
And after that an activity diagram of the same case.

1. The client comes with a product to return it
2. The cashier asks from the customer the receipt and he validates it.
3. The cashier starts in the register machine a new process for the return of the product
4. The cashier inserts the password of the receipt
5. The system takes from the store the Info that apply to the given receipt and displays the date and the total price
6. The cashier inserts the password of the product (that the customer brought to return)
7. The system search the linesale(sale products) and displays it.

Alternative flow:
5a. The receipt is not valid
1. The system validates that the product hasn't been purchased before 5 days
2. The cashier tells the customer about the problem and cancels the process

That was all.

First of all I've made a class on the class diagram. From the class I've create a sub diagram. This is a simple State Machine Diagram (initial state -> transition -> state -> transition -> final state).
When I try to generate code by select Modeling > State Machine Code > Generate Code... from the main menu, the button Generate Code... is hide.
What could be wrong?

Draw a class diagram representing a book defined by the following statement " A book is composed of a number of parts, which are in turn composed of a number of chapters. Chapters are composed of sections. A book includes a publisher, publication date, and an ISBN. A part includes a title and number. A chapter includers a title, a number, and an abstract. A section includes a title and number." Note that Part, Chapter, and Section classes all include a title and a number attribute. Add an abstract class and a generalization relationship to factor out these two attributes into the abstract class.

Below is a copy of the class diagram that I have attempted although I am unsure if the abstract class and generalization relationship are set correctly and I would therefore appreciate any feedback or help that you can offer me. Thanks.

If we use fork, do we have to follow it later by a join?

I am not using join, because it would mean that for the activity to continue, the other activity must finish (which is not the case).

So lets say we have activity1 in swimlane1 and activity2 in swimlane2. Acvitity1 can begin and go onto the next activity as soon as it finishes. Same for activity2. But they are both pointing onto the same activity. Is this allowed? I initially used join since they later merge into the same activity, but removed it because they both don't need to complete for the process to continue.

I am slightly confused about fork as well. If we use fork does that mean they are happening at the same time. Because in my design they don't necessary work in parallel. But I used it since one activity points to two different activities.

Any clarification will be much appreciated.

I am currently working on a project. It requires development using Java & Visual C++.Both parts are totally independent. I need to make UML class diagrams for the java classes i designed and also for Visual C++.

Should i use the same tool for producing UML diagrams for 2 different languages? I need to be professional.

I know java has NetBeans IDE which can do UML and for Visual C++; MSVisual Studio allows its own style of class diagrams. Which tool should i use?

Should i use MSVS for C++ and NetBeans for the Java classes? OR should i use just the 1 tool for both language class designs..?
