Can't get flow to connect to End Event

I’m using an eval copy of BP VA Modeler Edition v 1.1 build sp2_20061004 on WinXPSP2.

I can’t get anything to connect to any type of End Event i create.

We are currently testing a few different products out for BPMN s/w, and so far i really like this one the most, but this is highly annoying. Am i not following proper BPMN syntax?

I’ve tried to connect from a process, a task, and a gateway. Each time i right-click and draw my line, the little purple highlight box appears and when i let go of the rightclick i get the message in the top right of the window saying “Connect existing shape” but the line never appears.

Am i doing something wrong?

Dear ksain,

Thank you for your enquiry. You need to select the Sequence Flow tool from the pallet, and connect from the source to target shape. I captured a movie to show you how to do. Please watch at:

If there are anything unclear, please feel free to let me know.

Best regards,

Dear ksain,

First, please read my previous above for the solution. Second, there is a fix for using the Mouse Gesture (the way you did) to connect shapes to a End event. Please download the fix at:
http://files4.visual-paradigm.com/200610/HotFix/5-3-2_sp2_20061004e/vpplatform.jar

The following page teaches you how to replace the hotfix:

I will post again when a complete release is ready.

Please feel free to let me know if there are any questions about the fix.

Best regards,
Jick
