Differences between DB-VA Pro and VP-UML Pro

Hallo!
I can’t understand what the differences are between DB-VA Pro and VP-UML Pro.
Is there anything I can do with DB-Visual Architect Professional but I can’t with VP-UML Professional?

I compared the feature lists of both products, and as far as I understand DB-VA Pro has some features I don’t need (.NET and PHP ORM code generation).

It seems to me that VP-UML Professional has:

[ul] DB modeling
ORM
[/ul]
just like DB-VA Pro.

Did I miss something?
Best regards,

Hello Vito,

Thank for your enquiry.

Is there anything I can do with DB-Visual Architect Professional but I can’t with VP-UML Professional?

The Professional Edition of DB-VA supports Java, .NET and PHP ORM, while the Professional Edition of VP-UML supports only Java. On the other side, the Professional Edition of DBVA supports Class Diagram and ERD, while in VPUML, other UML diagrams are supported, too.

The main difference is on the support of UML (VP-UML support more UML diagrams) and ORM (DB-VA support two more language for ORM).

Jick

Thank you very much, Jick!
As you see, the purchase list is still changing.
I hope it’s ok for my boss now.

Thank you for your patience and the long lasting testing time of the Visual Paradigm trial versions.
