Element relationship / traceability matrix view?

In any of your products (including the newly released Agilian) - Do you have plans of adding a view or report that lists any objects that’s related to other objects? This is very useful for impact analysis and scoping discussion with the user.

IBM Rational has this report type and is called a traceability matrix view. Other products (like Sybase Powerdesigner) also has it. Some people call this feature a cross-reference report.

Here is an example screenshot from another tool called Enterprise Architect which shows what I’m talking about:

Hi,
I’m usign Agilian to evaluate its Requirements Capturing Feature.
I can’t find a Traceability Matrix that correlates any two kind of Requirement.
I need to determine the relationship from System Feature and System Requirement. How can I do this?

Thank you for your post. We are sorry that currently there is no Traceability Matrix in our products, but you can try to use the Model Transitor to add transition between model elements. You can find more details of Model Transitor in http://www.visual-paradigm.com/highlight/modeltransitor.jsp

Has Agilian 4 got tracebility matrix as described above?

Hello,

Has this feature been looked at? Any positive updates for us hoping for a traceability matrix feature in VP?

This feature is critical especially since we are looking at using VP as a tool to create our requirements, beyond modelling and maybe even as a repository. But without the matrix, it wont make much sense, might as well do it in Excel.

Please help.

The Enterprise Edition of Agilian do support creating matrix to review the relationships between model elements. You can find out more details about this feature at

Thanks Rain. But we already have a corporate license for Visual Paradigm and because we’ve invested on that, we’d like to maximise use of the tool rather than buying a new one.

Is it possible to have this feature in future releases and have it as an update?

I’m not asking much, just a feature to connect requirements/ models together then with a button, I can view all of the connected requirements, hence a traceability matrix.
