Actually different products support XMI in different ways. It is hard to say that the XMI exported from one tool can be imported by any other tools. Our XMI is tested to be compatible with most of the tools in the market. I believe that you may need to seek help from Protege for your problem. Concerning importing into Eclipse, do you mean the UML2 plugin? If yes, you need to select UML2 when exporting XMI in order to make the XMI readable by the UML2 plugin.
