VP-UML is one of the most complete UML tools I know and I advise it for anyone looking for a good UML tool. One thing that I found greatly lacking is help on the meaning of all element types.
Let’s say in the Class Diagram, which should I use: “Usage” or “Dependency”? Finding such in UML books gets quickly very tiresome. Another case would be: What’s that “Subsystem” node (supposing I only used to use Package)?
One good way would be to have a short description of the expected correct usage case for each element. Why? Simply so everyone get’s the same meaning. Even better would be to accompany this by an example diagram where it’s used correctly. This help should be made available from VP-UML (and possibly opening a web page containing an explanation).
