I just installed the jdbc driver form Micorsoft and try to reversing a database.
All is running good but no columns are generated in the tables.
The names of the tabels are correct.
No error is displayed
Generating a database or tabels from a n ERD in a database goes wrong too.
No error is displayed
Nothing is created.
In the VP.log file I see
[2012/10/16 15:26:00] [error] Can’t load JDBC Driver
[2012/10/16 15:26:00] [error] java.lang.NullPointerException
This problem is related to Microsoft’s JDBC driver not return the proper information for us to reverse the column. We have developed workaround for it and please update your software to latest patch build to get the enhancement (see the link below). BTW, Microsoft’s JDBC driver do not support reverse of column’s comment and therefore we suggest user to use the jDTS driver to have a more complete DB being reversed. Feel free to contact me if you need any help.
Mainwhile I’ve found why the creation of tabels didn’t work. The ‘export to database’ was not set. And I suppose that ‘personal’ has to be selected in place of ‘production’.
Yes, I’ve change the driver and everything works fine now.
