Selecting Objects

If I have a lot of objects in a pool, how do I select a group of these objects, e.g. to move them to a better position, without selecting the pool itself? It seems to be necessary to drag a marquee around the objects starting outside the pool, but it’s not always possible to do this without selecting a lot of objects that I don’t want to include.

For example, if I want to select all the objects inside the red line, what’s the best way of doing this?

Hi Rowan,

Please make the pool not selectable first. Right click on the pool and de-select Selection > Selectable from the popup menu.

Thanks for this info. It works as you describe. I could argue that it would be nice to have a quicker way (hold down ALT while clicking and dragging to disable pool selection, for example) but it will do for now!
