Unified Development Process

I´m recently reading a book that describes an Unified Development Process, I still don’t know much about it, it was written by three of the original creators of UML, they now work for Rational (IBM related).

My question is, does Visual Paradigm have some similar approach?, is it described in your book (the one written by your founders, which I’m planning to buy also)?

I’m plinning to buy SDE .NET 2003, as a first step.
