VP UML hangs on "Initializing Environment"

I just downloaded and installed VP UML Community Edition on Solaris 10 x64. The installation had no errors. When executing the run_vpuml script, I get the splash screen and then the application hangs on “Initializing Environment…”

Any ideas?

Hi, i have the same problem. I installed VP UML community edition on my linux system. It ran without problems a couple of times, then it just hung up for unknown reason and when i try to start it it just hangs on “Initializing Environment”

My system:
ubuntu linux 5.04, running unter gnome

My vp.log file:

I also tried to change the current JRE to the one in my own system, without luck:

INSTALL4J_JAVA_HOME_OVERRIDE=/usr/lib/j2re1.5-sun/

Hi Rain, thanks for the reply!

I just changed from the default ubuntu-theme to “clearlooks”. But even in the standard ubuntu theme it does not work anymore.

Now i am in the standard-theme and i uninstalled, giving me this error:

/usr/share/themes/Human/gtk-2.0/gtkrc:7: Failed to parse property value " GTK_SHADOW_NONE " for `GtkMenuItem::shadow-type'
/usr/share/themes/Human/gtk-2.0/gtkrc:58: Engine "clearlooks" is unsupported, ignoring

And when i reinstall i get the same error:

Starting Installer ...

Dear John,

I guess your problem could be caused by our bundled JRE is not for x64 systems. I suggest you can replace the JRE directory inside the VP Suite with the 64 bit JRE and try again. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.

I have the same problem.

I was using VP properly for 10 days.
Then I try to integrate it with JBuilder.
Then it starts to hangs on “Initializing Environment”

I reinstall 2 times, but result was same.

1.CPU and OS
2.JBuilder version
3.the ignorefonts.txt inside the resources folder of VP Suite
4.any VM error log inside the bin folder of the VP Suite
