Hi,
In activities diagrams, can I draw an activity over two or more swimlanes?
Thanks,
Yours,
Hi Jean-Michel,
No, you cannot. We only allow the shapes below to be placed across swimlane compartments:
- Object Node
- Central Buffer Node
- Data Store Node
- Fork Node
- Join Node
Best Regards,
Antony.
Hi Jean-Michel,
Can you suggest what could be most effective alternative to draw activity spanning multiple swim lanes in Visual Paradigm.
Thanks
Hi Bhola_Singh_Dhillon,
Thank you for your inquiry. The desktop version of Visual Paradigm is a modeling software that supports more formal modeling needs. It supports syntax checking and correction, which helps users create the right model, even though they may not be familiar with the notation. This is why the creation of activity across swimlane is not allowed. However, we support another web-based diagramming software for more casual diagramming. The syntax checking is less strict compare to the desktop version, and you can create activity across swimlanes with it. The following screenshot shows you the result:
