Hi Alexandre,

C4 model is a new feature that is available in version 16.3, the latest version. If your software maintenance plan is active, you can upgrade to version 16.3 to create C4 models.

Hi Paweł,

Thank you for your post and sorry for my mistake. The C4 model is currently available in our cloud-based product VP Online but not in Visual Paradigm Desktop. I have asked our developers to make it available in the desktop version. This will be available in a week.

Hi,

Do you have in your roadmap the feature to import C4 Model DSLs?
We have currently all our models in DSL structure, and we are looking for a UML tool that we could use, instead of having to programmatically create or update diagrams.

Hi Ben,

The support of C4 Model in Visual Paradigm desktop is ready. To create a C4 Model (diagram), please update your installation to the latest patch build (build 20210720bg or higher). Please note that C4 Model is a web-based diagram type. You need a VP Online account to use this feature.

Thanks Jick. Our company has started using team server and as far as I understand we can’t use both team server and online repos in the same workspace. Is it possible to support C4 models in team server?

Hi Ben,

Thank you for your post. C4 model is also available in standalone VP Server. To obtain the new diagram, please restart your VP Server once. During the process, we will obtain the updates through the Internet. Once restarted, you will be able to create C4 model. If there are any problems, please feel free to let us know.

Hi actually C4 model is only a drawing feature, is there a plan for having it working the same way as UML with hierarchic views (C4 Model in a real model) ?
