Can I import an ERwin/ERX diagram?

My workplace has a large ER diagram done with LogicWork’s ERwin/ERX tool. It exports to XML (an ERX file). Is there any way to import this into Visual Paradigm? We use it for creating our database model, but once I mentioned that VP-UML also does ORM/EJB mapping, my fellow developer became very interested!

Hi Jick,

The resource you’ve linked me to is for AllFusion’s ERwin product. I’m actually using a (very old) tool called ERwin/ERX, by a company called LogiWorks. They do export in XML format, but using a different format from AllFusion. I tried importing it into Visual Paradigm, but of course it didn’t work at all.

Just wondering if you had any support for the LogicWork’s data format.

I see. Currently we do not support LogicWorks’ data format. Would you mind sending me sample projects produced by LogicWorks (XML or its native format)? We would like to study its file content, and see if we could support it. Thank you.
