Default value

Hi,

Cannot find any way to add default values for a field. There is an ‘initial value’ in the class diagram, but there is no default value option for the ER diagram.

Does DB-VA support default values?

I would welcome this feature too. My company needs a good ER diagram designer for various databases and only this feature is missing, so it prevent us to buy Your software. :frowning:

Hi NYePiD and Rob,

No problem, I just talked to our developers. Sure the ability for setting default value for database columns will be supported in DB-VA. We are trying to deliver this feature as soon as possible, and it will be available in the next version - VP Suite 2.2 Service Pack 1 (estimated release date: 14/3/2006)

Sorry NYePiD, there is a change on the schedule. This feature will not be available in the current version or in the service pack 1. Instead, it will be available on or before 14/4/2006 (possibly service back 2).

I think we can manage the delay.

We are using PostgreSQL and MySQL. Mainly PostgreSQL, every new projects are designed for it.
