Deselect one element from a Multiple Selection

Hi all,

if all e.g. activities are selected via CTRL+A, how can I deselect only one of this?

I found it

The one element which has to bee deselected must be “left klicked with Shift or Ctrl Key pressed”

But the next question:
In this case I see elements with Black Handles and one with white Handles.
What is the difference?

Thank you for your post. Within a shape selection, the shape with white handlers is the last selected shape.
