Eclipse mac os x

I am using Mac os x and eclipse. Is SDE compatible with them? I did see only eclipse 2.1 or higher on Windows mentioned.

Dear Don,
At the moment, our SDE for Eclipse only can work in Windows. We may support Mac when the JDK 1.5 is released. If you want to use the code-model sycnhronization, you may try our Professional Edition’s Eclipse Integration. Now we have Java 1.6 on Mac but SDE for Eclipse is still not available. Any plans to do it?

Thanks for your post. We are sorry that since Mac OS X does not enhance SWT support, which affects our integration, we do not support SDE for Eclipse on Mac. As suggested by Angus, you can use VP-UML Professional Edition (or above) which supports integration with Eclipse and performs code-model synchronization.

  • To make sure the integration runs smoothly, please edit the eclipse.ini file (inside Eclipse.app/Contents/MacOS/) and add a line “-XX:MaxPermSize=256m”

BTW, currently SDE for Eclipse is not available on Mac OS X only.

Does any version of SDE exist for the MAC?

Thanks for your inquiry. You can use SDE for NetBeans (SDE-NB) and SDE for IntelliJ IDEA (SDE-IJ) on Mac OS X. Due to SWT support on Mac OS X, SDE for Eclipse (SDE-EC) is still unavailable on Mac. If you have any further inquiry, please let me know.

So is it even a plan to support Mac? It is incredibly hard to find information about supported platforms on your site.

Actually everything indicated that you DO support Eclipse on Mac, but only a frustrating installation attempt tells you otherwise.
