ERD Diagram versioning

I am new to VP and I am using it for ERD modeling. I do not know how I can create versions of my diagram. So easily compare changes between each one like for example 1.0 vs 2.0. Is there any easy way to do that?

Hi Jerzy,

Thank you for your inquiry. To keep versions for your work, you need to manage your project in our VP Online repository. First of all, sign up a workspace by following the steps written in this article:

Once you have created an account, you can commit local changes to the repository. Each “commit” action will result in the creation of a revision. You can compare between revisions using the Visual History feature. The following articles provide you with more detail.

Using Visual History

Hope this helps. Feel free to post again if you have any questions.

Thank you it helped. But still I do not see the diagram in VP online. Is there anyway to make it visible?

Hi Jerzy,

Do you mean you want to compare changes between ERD revisions in a web browser, through the online version of Visual Paradigm? I am sorry, but this is not supported. Visual History, the feature to compare between revisions, is only available in Visual Paradigm Desktop, and in fact, ERDs created and committed under Visual Paradigm Desktop can only be viewed and edited under Visual Paradigm Desktop. There do have some diagram types that are editable in both the desktop and online version but ERD is not one of them. Sorry about this.

Best regards,
