Installation problem on Ubuntu 8.10

I am trying to install the VP Suite on ubuntu and get the error below. I have downloaded it twice with the same result so it is unlikely to be a corrupt download. This is a little disappointing as the product looked very slick when I downloaded and trialled the windoze version.

gregh@seventeen:/opt/vp_suite$ sudo ./VP_Suite_Linux_3_4_sp2_20090212.sh
Unpacking JRE ...

./VP_Suite_Linux_3_4_sp2_20090212.sh: 229: bin/unpack200: not found

Hi user,

Thanks for your post. The problem is probably due to corrupted installer, could you please download the installer from the following to see if it succeed on installation?

I did downloaded the Visual-Paradigm file from the following Server.

But when I want to install the program under Ubuntu 8.1 it stops with an error message.
It open a setup window but it is empty. Only the headline is shown " Setup - VP Suite 3.4.

Some times when we install some applications in Ubuntu , the menus are not displayed properly. On searching I found out that this does not happen when you using Java 6 , Since I need to keep Java 5 for my other applications I disabled the visual settings and it worked for me System => Preference => Appearance => Visual Effects => NONE
It worked for me

I have same issue as topic starter:

daniil@book:/tmp/VP_Suite5.0/bin$

Appearance > Visual Effects is set to “none”.
Ubuntu is 10.04.1 AMD64

I use

libxp-1.0.0-3
$uname -a
Linux myhost 2.6.36-ARCH ...
export AWT_TOOLKIT=MToolkit

I have the save issue

[root@myhost opt]# ./VP_Suite_Linux_5_0_sp1_20101119.sh
Unpacking JRE ...
Preparing JRE ...
./VP_Suite_Linux_5_0_sp1_20101119.sh: line 256: bin/unpack200: No such file or directory
Error unpacking jar files. Aborting.

This problem should be fixed in the latest version. Can you have a try and see is it working?
