Missing some icons in active diagram

I download Visual Paradigm 3.1 and the evaluation key for moduler version. Then I try to create an active diagram. When I click on an existing diagram element, I don’t see the following icons discribed in the user manual:

  1. horizontal synchronization resource icon
  2. virtical synchronization resource icon
  3. signal receipt resource icon
  4. signal sending resource icon

This make it almost impossible to draw an activity diagram.

Dear Guoheng,

The icons are just shortcut buttons (resources) for creating commonly used diagram elements. To view those least commonly used resources, just select menu “View” -> “Show Extra Resources”. And you can always create diagram elements using the diagram toolbar (located on the left-hand-side of each diagram).

Antony.

“View” -> “Show Extra Resources” works. But the diagram toolbar is hard to use. I clicked the “Transition” icon on the toolbar and click on the diagram trying to create a new transition. Nothing happened.

Anyway, I can creat an active diagram now.

Dear Guoheng,

To create a connection line in VP-UML, you need to click on the source shape, then drag the connection over the destination shape and release the mouse button.

Antony.
