Multiplicity for tagged values

I wonder, if anyone could explain the meaning of multiplicity for tagged values. My thought would be, that if you e.g. select a 1…* multiplicity for a tagged value, you would be able to attach any number of values (at least one) to it. However, when I specify a *-multiplicity, I can’t see any changes in the behavior of the tagged values.

Moreover, I can’t find any explanations about it in the user’s guide. I would expect to find info about it on this page.

Multiplicity in tagged value is used for modelling purpose only.
No matter what multiplicity you set, number of values will not affect by it.
