Not able to use BP Visual Architect licence served by floating licence server

Hi,

We’ve recently acquired BPVA with a floating licence. Currently we’re using BPVA with the evaluation licence.

I would like to change this, but using the BPVA I’m not able to select the installed licence key server.

The licence key is running without errors.

What should I do: reinstall BPVA, install the VP suite??

Hi Hans,

Thank you for choosing Visual Paradigm! I guess you want to switch from evaluation license to floating license. If that’s the case, please try the steps below:

  1. Backup and remove %HOME-DIR%/.vplls, the key repository
  2. Start the BPVA. This shows the key manager because you do not have a key now
  3. Connect to the floating license server to get a key
  4. Close the key manager to start BPVA

The following pages show you how to import a floating license key into the tool. It maybe a bit outdated, but the concept is still the same:
http://resource.visual-paradigm.com/tips_and_tricks/floating_license_server/how_to_import_floating_license_key.html

Hope the information has helped. Please feel free to post again if there are any questions.

Best regards,
Jick

Thanx. it’s working now. I missed the information with regards to the installation of the licence server within BPVA
