I thought the notation for a database for a cylinder standing up vertically. I can’t see this anywhere?

Thanks for replying. There is no specific notations for database in UML’s component and deployment diagram. But in VP, you can pick an image file to represent components as database. You can right click on the shape (say component) and select Presentation Options > User-Defined > Select from File to choose the image file (see attached pic).
