Got a problem, or should I say time to spare
Running VP-UML Version 4.1, happy with what it can do but not happy with how it does it.
I got a model, 37 use cases and one overview diagram. Everytime I make a change to the model the application takes its time to react.
We talking about a few minutes at the time here.
There are topics about the performance on the overview diagram but this is more a general performance thing. The processer hits 100% everytime I make a change, is there a fix for this. (Running 2.4Ghz Intel and 1Gb memory, VP is the only application (appart from OS WindowsXP) so I guess I would have enough “power” to run the app.)
Anybody having the same problem? and what is the fix for it?
Thank you for your post. We have made some modification in the 5.0 version of VP-UML which will increase the performance on the overview diagram significantly. But this module in current Early Access version is not yet stable. I’ll notify you once it was ready. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.
The fix for the overview diagram module of the early access version is finished. I will notify you once it was being deployed. Thanks you for supporting our product.
Has this fix been implemented in VP SDE for Visual Studio.NET? I have Version 3.0 (Build 20050624) with a class diagram (60+ classes) and the performance is painful to say the least. Frequently my machine is locked up for several minutes.
Thank you for your message and we are sorry for any inconvenience this problem caused you. Could you mind send me your project to have a look? You can send me at rain@visual-paradigm.com. Thanks in advance!
Thank you for your project file. The locked up problem could be caused by you have switched on the Auto Synchronization options. By switching on this options, the model and code will be synchronized when you switching between code and diagram. Since your diagram is too large and contains so many models, it takes time to do the synchronization. Switching off this option then you can perform synchronization on selected models manually by right click on the model and select update to code (or right click the source file in the solution explorer and select update to model). If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.
