Problem importing XMI from MagicDraw

Nothing shows up in the model tree except for Author information. I’ll email you the file that I had tested with. Thanks!

EDIT – Hi Jick, please ignore the email that I just sent to you! I forgot to use Save As in MagicDraw, and used Export instead. I’m getting model data now, and will poke around to make sure everything is correct. Thanks!!!

Jick, do you have documentation on how to use the Teamwork features with a Subversion repository? We use SVN here, and would really like to test the conflict resolution feature.

Hello dmatsumoto,

Thank you for your reply. We do not teach user how to configure the Subversion server or repository because Subversion already did that. You may visit their site to find some documentation about this. Yet, we do have some resources that show you how to perform teamwork operations with SVN.

Article - Modeling collaboratively with Subversion

Movies - Team collaboration with Subversion Repository

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
Jick

Thanks, Jick. That’s exactly what I was looking for, as we already know how to configure the SVN server.

Hello dmatsumoto,

You are welcome. If you need any help, feel free to let us know.

Have a nice weekend!

Hi, I’m bringing this topic back from the dead again.

I am currently using MagicDraw 17.0.1 Visual Paradigm v.8.1.

I face the exact same problem as dmatsumoto :
I export my model as XMI for UML2, “and when I import the project into VP, it says that it imported successfully. However, no diagrams are added to the project.”

I suppose that I’m doing something wrong, but I can’t figure what… could you help me please ?

Thanks!

Hi user,

Could you send us your file so that we can help you check what the problem is? You can submit a ticket (with attachment) at:

Hi Jick,

I just submitted my file, but I must say that it’s actually a simple class diagram.
Thanks in advance dor your help

Hi user,

We will be supporting that in the next version.

Hi,

I’m evaluating VP 11 Professional and still have the same problem.
Tried various output formats from Magic Draw (XMI 2.4, Eclipse UML2 v2.x…), but I only get classes, no diagrams.

It’s even worse the other around (from VP to Magic Draw).

So much for an “Interchange” format…

Any tips to improve things ?
