Dear Rolf,

If you have got problem installing SDE using the installer, try installing it using the “No Install” file (you can find this option in the download page). A detailed instruction on how to install SDE using “No Install” can be found here:

I have had the same problem and started surfing th web to find a solution.
SDE requirements want SUN ONE 5.0 while I’m working with 4.0. but I must say the installer is very unfriendly ! It doesn’t say anything about the problem nor where I can find the log file.
