Report Writer Template

Hi,

for a special project I created a data flow process and as a consequence a report writer report.

Now I work on a business process diagram in another project and also want to create a report writer report. This new report should have the same look (headings, numbering…) as my first report (which is different than the proposed templates in Agilian).

How can I use my first report as a kind of template or how can I assign the mentioned features to my new report?

I think it does not work with “Copy style to current report”. This function does not show me the old report at all – I think because the old report belongs to another Project.

Thank you for helping.

Best Regards

Robert

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your post. You can define your own look in template for the Report Writer, which details can be found at http://oldresources.visual-paradigm.com/tips_and_tricks/general/defining_templates_for_report_writer.html

If there is any further inquiry, please feel free to ask.

Hi,
I tried to follow the example that you have uploaded ON, but without
success.
The first step is: Create a folder in USER_HOME_DIR, with folder name
’vpreporttemplates’
I want to ask :
"USER_HOME_DIR is C:\Program Files\VP Suite 3.4???

I tried, I tried but the new report template isn’t into report template
list!

Another question: In witch directory I can find the report template Aurora,
Blanck, Lotus???

tks very much!

Hi user,

Thanks for your post. USER_HOME_DIR exists in Documents and Settings directory, e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\Lilian

The default report templates (Aurora, Blank, Lotus, etc.) are bundled in VPSuite/lib/vpplatform.jar, so that templates are not available for modification.

If there is any further inquiry, please feel free to ask.

Best regards,
