I’m using a family tree template that has circular image placeholders but when I drag an image into it, it embeds as a square image. How can get my images to fit the round image placeholders?

The diagram base Family Tree (should be the one you tried) is having the entire entire circular element as place holder (not just the gray circle inside) and that’s why the applied image will show in square shape. I recommend you use the Family Tree Collage to create your family tree as it do have circular place holder for images. Hope this can help.
