Sde chosen operation not available

i installed an eval version of sde no install for eclipse 2.1 but keep getting ‘The chosen operation is not currently available’ when I try to ‘Open UML Model’ from Package Explorer in eclipse.

I am also getting this but when trying to open Visual Paradigm from Eclipse using Ubuntu 14.04
