Unable to launch Visual Paradigm Community Edition Version: 16.1 Build number: 20200601

I’m using MacBook Pro 13’ 2018 with Catalina 10.15.5
I downloaded last CE version (20200601) but i have always this error:

“Visual Paradigm.app” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.
This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.

I found and tried this workaround https://knowhow.visual-paradigm.com/technical-support/launch-vp-osx-catalina/ but it doesn’t works.

How fix it?

I got same problem and following the workaround and it works.

Hi @mavis but using the same macbook and same OS?

I fixed it.
The app must be saved in a folder and not inserted in the mac apps.
After this the workaround works fine.

This still happens with the latest 18.0 Community version, how about the development team fix it please!

This problem should be caused by Apple not yet update the signature of our Installer after we release new build. Sometimes the update process would take 1 - 2 days to complete. Once Apple updated our signature then user should able to install the software without prompting for malicious software.
