VP starts, but hangs up

Sorry. My vp.log is about 2Mb… I can’t attach it. There is some lines of this log:

I am unsure at the moment on why it is so slow, there could be a few factors contributing to the performance (it could be the fact that you only have 128MB RAM, or you have a slow harddisk).

In your home directory, there is a file called .vpuml.properties delete this file and try running VP-UML again.

I don’t know why - it likes to me. Can it do an error?
Ok. I reinstall to my home directory - situation not changes.

I have downloaded .bin file.

May I ask why VP-UML is installed in /opt directory?

Is the version of VP=UML you downloaded the .bin file? or the no_install variant?

My computer is AMD Athlon 1.2MHz; 128MB of RAM; 11GB of free space on disk. I have installed java sdk 1.4.2.01. VP-UML CE is installed to /opt/vpunlce

Command java -cp vpuml.jar:vpumlresources.jar RV works same.
Splash screen progress bar freezs on 75% for a few minutes. In this time log-file quikly grows. After this program starts up. I can draw diagramms (but works slow). But when I want close program, save diagram or open exiting diagram program is not responding…

What are the specifications of your computer?
Which directory did you install VP-UML CE to?

Can you please test if the following command works:
java -cp vpuml.jar:vpumlresources.jar RV

Other java-applications (NetBeans, for example) works fine on my mashine.
In my home directory I found only .VPUMLCommunity.vpl and .vpumlproject.xml, which starting from “vpuml”. Removing of it not helps.

java -Xmx256m -Xms64m vpuml.jar:vpumlresources.jar RV

Sorry. I found another tool for my job - Umbrello. It works fine. It’s free and give me all I need.

I have install VP for UML CE on another machine (AMD Athlon 1.4Mhz, 256Mb RAM, Mandrake Linux 9.1) It works, without any manipulations… And I have installed to /opt directory - no problem. Very strange.

Hello All!

I have downloaded VP CE for linux (Mandrake 9.2). It starts long time (about 3min). Then, when I try to open exiting project VP hangs up. I can only kill it. In this time cpu activity is 0%.
