VP-UML 10.1 Community edition appears to not start - Windows XP Pro SP3, Java 1.7.0_21 SE

Just downloaded and installed VP-UML 10.1 community edition. It appeared to install OK but when I tried to run it nothing appeared on the screen. No splash, no error message and no window.

Looking in Task Manager the process seeems to start up but just sit there doing nothing but consume 66MB of ram and the odd clock cycle.

Any suggestions of how to find out what’s going wrong? Googled but found nothing relevant.

EditedToAdd: Tried on a different PC (Windows 8) and got the exact same issue. Have also tried uninstalling and re-installing from fresh download.

Hello Stephen,

Can you go to %user_home%/visualparadigm folder, and see is there any vpuml.log file created? If yes then can you send me to have a look? Thanks!
