VP-UML Community Edition for Mac not loading saved project

No idea if this issue has come up before, and to be honest I don’t want to trawl through 100’s of threads to find it if it exists.

I am running the Community Edition 10.0 on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4

I have been using without trouble for drawing ERD’s for a couple weeks now. However today I tried to open an existing project file, and all I get is a blank workspace with a blue background. I can not find any way to make the diagram visible.

When launching the application, it automatically loads the project as the last used.

Console logs show the following from when I click the VP-UML icon to when it stops doing anything:

Anyone got any idea what may be wrong? I need to access the project for a Uni Assignment…

Hello slothy89,

Would you mind send me your project file and the vp.log file to have a look? The vp.log file can be found either under the bin folder of the installation directory, or under %user_home%/visualparadigm folder. Please send the files to support-team@visual-paradigm.com together with the URL of this post. Thanks and look forward to hear from you.

Best regards,
Rain Wong

I have been having a bit of a play, and seems I have got it all working again.

Appears that I had inadvertently closed specific panes and was having trouble re-opening them. This was not a program fault, simply me being dumb.

To be expected when using a software package for the first time.

Thanks for your quick response regardless.

Chris

Hi Chris,

Nevermind. Feel free to post again if you have any questions.
