VP-UML Community goes blank when starts

Hi Everybody…

I just installed VP Community and I had no problems doing that but, when the VP starts, I only see a blank window and then, when I move the mouses pointer around the window, icons, menus and almost every thing else suddenly starts to appear. :shock:

I’ve tried to create a new project and then everything goes normal ( I think… :roll: ).

Ok, then I save my project, close the VP and then I open again the project, same situation: something elements appear, some don´t.

Can anybody explain this behavior?

Could you attach the $vp-suite-install-dir/bin/vp.log file to let us identify what the problem is? Besides, please post a screenshot to show this problem. Thank you.

And again, really, thanks, I’ve been suffer while looking for a CASE UML tool, I’ve proved some but, even with this problems, I think yours it’s the best!!! :smiley:

In addition to my previous post (just above this one), if you are using Windows, could you try switching to another Theme, such as the default one, and see if this problem can be solved? If yes, please let me know which theme you are using and where could we get this theme. Thank you.

I’m using Windows XP SP2…

Ok, and for your last request…I use Style XP 3.11 Male, I disable it and now everything work just fine… :shock:

I was using a theme call Longhorn Avalon…

And, maybe this is the problem, I patch my system with the Neowin Uxtheme Patcher 4 for using the themes without the Style XP, but I always forget to unistalled…

We found that there is a compatibility problem with your theme. In order to run VP-UML without the need of switching back to the default theme, you need to run VP-UML with metal look and feel. The following article shows you how to do this:

I’ve been running VP with another theme, it wasn’t that big dill to switcht it so, I did it!!! 8) but I’ll try that other solution anyways.

Hi white.thief,

You are welcome. We just made a fix to detect if this is the problem theme, we will run the tool in Metal Look and Feel. The result is the same as you set it manually in the preference file I suggested.

The fix will be available in the coming release.
