Registration: Failed to connect to Visual Paradigm servers - Windows

I’m trying to register Visual Paradigm 16.3 build 20210803 on my Windows 64bit machine and getting the following error:

from searching over the internet and on this forum I found another thread with the same issue, in which the guy installed another JRE on his dev machine as I did.
I removed the other JRE, set the JAVA path to the bundled one, and tried to follow the solution but could not manage to get this to works
Registration: Failed to connect to Visual Paradigm servers.

Here is the VP logs:

Hi Tomer,

There is an SSL error… Are you able to access https://www.visual-paradigm.com/ in your web browser?

Best regards,
Jick Yeung

Hi Jick and thanks for the fast reply. I’m able to access the website

Hi Tomer,

Thank you for your reply. I have forwarded your reply to our engineers to check. When there is any update, I will let you know.

Hi Tomer,

The problem could be related to proxy settings. For example, your network blocked https connection for non-browser application. Could you try to specify the required proxy first? As far as I know, when you start Visual Paradigm, there is a link or a button that brings you to the proxy setting page. Do you see that?

If it remains not working, please check with your network admin, to see if any settings have been made that block non-browser application connections.

Best regards,
Jick Yeung

Hi Jick,
No proxy is been set and the network is fine.
The program ran on my PC until I installed a new JRE version globally on the machine. and apparently uninstall it did not restore the previous state…

The only remedy that I found is to copy the main directory and the user settings from a different computer to my machine, which solved my problem.

The main problem seems to be once you install a new JRE setting regarding the SSL certifications in the bundled JRE you proved are been overridden and could not be restored properly

Best regards,
Tomer
